Erin + Lindsay's Bedroom Suite Remodel

Bed + Bathroom Renovation in Portland, OR

Erin + Lindsay asked us to reconfigure the second floor of their 1920s North Portland home, to create a sumptuous main bedroom + bathroom. Two small low-ceilinged bedrooms became a single main bedroom with a soaring vaulted ceiling. The primary bathroom now contains a “wet room” with a shower and a Japanese soaking tub, a private toilet room, and a central space for the vanity.

This project was published in 1859.

We love the feeling we get walking into our master suite. Every time we come home, we both feel like it is the best place to unwind and relax. The masterful way that Michael helped us envision what our imaginations created, and then took that and made it a tangible reality really blew us away. Michael’s wide scope of design inspiration helped integrate our personalities with materials, textures, colors and shapes that would hold us for years to come.

Blue Grotto

The inspiration for the blue-tiled wet room was drawn from the famous blue grotto of Capri. Deep blues, a deep tub of water, and shafts of light from the skylight set a calming tone.

The original bedroom had low ceilings, as did the neighboring bedroom. By joining the two rooms, vaulting the ceiling, and adding three large windows, we were able to achieve a single spacious master bedroom with ample daylight.
